On Mutual Information Analysis of Infectious Disease Transmission via Particle Propagation

Besides mimicking bio-chemical and multi-scale communication mechanisms, molecular forms a theoretical framework for virus infection processes. Towards this goal, aerosol droplet transmission has recently been modeled as multiuser scenario. In letter, the “infection performance” is evaluated by means of mutual information analysis, an even simpler probabilistic performance measure which closely related to absorbed viruses. The so-called rate depends on distribution channel input events well transition probabilities between output events. investigated analytically five basic discrete memoryless models. Numerical results are obtained Monte Carlo simulations pathogen-laden particle in four typical indoor environments: two-person office, corridor, classroom, bus. Particle transfer contributed significantly infectious diseases like SARS-CoV-2 influenza.
